based on knowledge acquired from previous exercises, you are asked to create a 30-second piece that demonstrates skillful handling of animation principles, with an emphasis on dynamic, fluid movement and clear visual continuity. a soundtrack comprised of music and/or sound effects is required. these projects are viewed by all sections of Animation Principles at an end-of-semester pizza party, where awards are given for best movement, funniest, and best overall piece. organization skills are encouraged via the introduction of shot lists used to organize the workload over time.
Criteria for Storyboards:
• project do-able
within required parameters and time frame?
• simple idea that
exploits full movement/animation principles?
• engaging
story/premise with sense of character motivation and acting (if narrative)?
• “easy read”
panels, with coherent screen direction changes, dramatically-motivated framing,
camera angles and distance from viewer choices?
