catch & throw

with a single character onstage waiting to catch an invisible object whose weight, flexibility, and other physical characteristics will be defined by the character's reactions, we will make use of all animation principles.

in this exercise, you work in teams of two, trading off lead animator and in-betweening roles.

Criteria for Catch and Throw Keys and Breakdowns review and grading:
• pose thumbnails show process has been thought through?
• character shows volume and flexibility, strong line of action, clear silhouette, coherent, graceful arcs, convincing shifts of center of gravity, secondary action, thought process?
• invisible ball gives convincing hints with regards to its physical properties?
• key poses represent the storytelling moments?
• timing charts created for partner.
• timing natural, shot using timing charts? pauses not too long or too short?
• action framed effectively within 10 field?
