bouncing ball

bouncing ball
the bouncing ball, deceptively simple, introduces several key principles, including squash and stretch, timing, arcs, keys, anticipation, exaggeration, and staging.

Criteria for Basic Bouncing Ball
• does speed change convincingly, with a “near-stop” at the apex?
• does the bouncing ball’s rate of acceleration and deceleration give a convincing sense of weight?
• is volume maintained during squash and stretch? Does the amount of squash and stretch give an idea of what material the ball is made of?
